Physics<\/strong><strong> under the India\u2013Sri Lanka Joint Research Programme<br \/><\/strong><strong>University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka<br \/><\/strong><strong>Faculty of Science- Department of Physics<br \/><\/strong><strong>Post of Research Assistant (MPhil)<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the <strong>post of Research Assistant<\/strong> in the Department of Physics, University of Jaffna, under the <strong>India\u2013Sri Lanka Joint Research Programme 2024<\/strong>, funded by <strong>the Ministry of Science and Technology, Sri Lanka, and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), India.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The selected candidate will be required to register for an <strong>MPhil degree in Physics\/Materials Science<\/strong> at the University of Jaffna and engage in full-time research on <strong>\u201cExplorative, Economic, and Efficient Perovskite Based Energy Harvesting Devices\u201d.<\/strong> The Research Assistant will also be responsible for preparing progress reports and research publications and assisting the Principal Investigator in project-related activities.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Required qualifications:<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Applicants should possess one of the following:<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Physics with a minimum GPA of 3.0.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>OR<\/strong><\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Chemistry with a minimum GPA of 3.0.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>OR<\/strong><\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A Bachelor of Science degree with Physics as a subject and an MSc in Materials Physics.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Prior research experience in Materials Science and \/or Perovskite Solar Cells will be an added advantage.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Expected Technical Skills:<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The candidate is expected to have knowledge and\/or practical experience in:<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Synthesis and fabrication of perovskite materials for solar cell applications.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hands-on experience with material characterization techniques.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Priority will be given to those who possess experimental experience in thin-film fabrication and structural, spectroscopic, and electrical characterization.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Remuneration: <\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Research Assistant will be paid in accordance with the remuneration rates approved by the National Research Council (NRC).<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bachelor\u2019s degree with a Class + MSc: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 80,000 per month\u00a0(fixed)<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bachelor\u2019s degree with a First or Second Upper Class: 70,000 per month (fixed)<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Bachelor\u2019s degree: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 60,000 per month
