He has supervised <strong>eleven awarded MPhil\/PhD candidates<\/strong>, with <strong>three additional PhD candidates<\/strong> currently in progress under collaborations with Western University of Applied Sciences and the University of Bergen.\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1506\">Professor Punniamoorthy has received numerous distinctions for his research excellence, including the <strong>Presidential Award<\/strong> for Scientific Publications (five years), the <strong>CVCD Excellence Award<\/strong> for the Most Outstanding Young Researcher in Physical Sciences (2006), and the <strong>SCOPUS\/NSF Young Scientist Award<\/strong> (2008).
